DOT now requires a description of the type of packagings used on a shipping paper (Oct. 1, 2007). For example, 1 fiberboard box, 2 steel drums, etc.
DOT final rule HM-215I revises classifications, special provisions and shipping paper descriptions, amoung many other things, as of January 1st, 2007. Changes are mandatory January 1, 2008.

DOT now requires the marking "Overpack" when specification packagings are placed in an overpack.
